General
This course gives the basic knowledge in studying modern numerical methods. After passing the course students
- know elementary theory of errors,
- can estimate errors occurring in calculation in simpliest cases,
- can interpolate with polynomials,
- can solve nonlinear equations,
- can solve nonlinear systems of equations,
- know real methods of solving linear systems,
- can numerically differentiate,
- know simple quadrature formulae and can use them in calculation of integrals.
Grading
To get a positive result, student has to solve all of the exercises given in practical lessons and get at least half of maximum points from both test works. Oral exam, if student fails to get a positive result from test works.
